Woot! Yay for Metalocalypse! Charles is my favorite character! Behind him I'd have to say Toki, Nathan, and then Sqwuissgar and Pickles would tie.
I can't pick a favorite season, I've rarely seen an episode I didn't like...but I can target some of my favorite moments and episodes.
When Nathan decided to go back and get his GED, that was great. I thought it was a total riot when they convinced him to drink to help his nerves, and then when Charles read his score of 0% was stumped on how Nathan didn't know he didn't write anything down. That had me rotfl for days.
I also really liked when Charles was "killed". I'm not sure where the plot was going with all of that, but it was suspenseful. I loved the way Charles defended Toki and Squissgar saying "That's my bread and butter your fucking with!" and then quoted later by Nathan as he plowed Charle's assailant with a big piece of Mourdhaus' support as it burned to the ground. Charles affect and place with Dethklok is one of my favorite dimensions of the show, and one that I'm very very curious about seeing how it ends up.
Another great moment in this is when Charles made his return, not a moment too soon; As the band was getting ready to re-negotiate their contract with the Label Owner's bitter-at-nathan-son by force. I loved the way he showed up in tshirt and jeans with his hair all askew, he looked so much more rugged than his normal self and this is the moment I fell in love with Charles. Nathan quickly delivered another blow(much like the notorious one that caused the whole ordeal some-odd years ago when Dethklok first started) and Charles got their concert back up and running, telling them he'd handle the label; They have a show to play.
I love how he's always there, and he puts so much military knowledge to use protecting "the boys". He speaks of them almost affectionately, as if it's more than just his bread and butter. He also steers and directs them(to the extent they will pay attention) on deeper things, like when Squissgar was feeling some daddy-issues. Charles talked repeatedly about things like never knowing a father's love and so on and so forth until Squissgar decided he would make the search for his father. The number of potential candidates who had unprotected sex with his mother during the month of his conception was staggering, with hundreds of thousands of men showing up for DNA testing. I had a feeling Charles knew what would come when all of this hit Squissgar, and he went home to become a "regular jackoff" with his Mother and newfound Stepfather(who coincidentally looks a LOT like squissgar, and makes the same freaked out face and action when he walks in on her being a skank..hm..). To no avail, the band begged, and Squissgar was reminded why he is what he is, he's a demi-god. A bastard in this earth, but above the regular man, and he regained his amazing composure and presence he had when he was..more youthful, shall we say. With this newfound robusto, what could stop Squiss? And I think that's exactly what Charle's intended. I believe we'll see a lot more of this until all the members are as developed as they can possibly be.
It's no doubt that Charle's is preparing them for a grand Metalocalypse..but I'm always stuck debating..which side is Charles on? o.O
I do NOT like the rock and roll clown, however. I don't understand how Toki does. I feel the same way the rest of the band does about him.
