(tried to attach an image but got the error: "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.")
Anyone else see that left bar thing whenever they use Google now? It may only be for people who are logged in. But anyway, if you hate it (like I do), I found a Firefox plugin to remove it: http://userscripts.o...pts/show/76162.
Before anyone brings it up, I did try Google Chrome and didn't like it for two reasons: 1. While the program and first tab opens quickly, opening additional tabs is slower than Firefox for me (I assume because opening a new tab is like opening another instance of the program) 2. I use RoboForm to store all my passwords and the Chrome Roboform plugin sucks and is still in beta testing.

I'm not fond of it, but i do use the side bar when searching for images sometimes. I miss the "hide options" option it used to have. Thanks for the program, but as I'm not sure how easily it can be turned off then I won't install it in case I want to look up a picture of a "Full Moon" that is "medium sized" and colored "Green" (won't really need that, it's just an example lol).

It's horrible and reminiscent of AdWords. I switched off Adblock Plus just to check the layout with AdWords and it makes the page cramped and overwhelming.

    It doesn't bother me, personally.

    Still like it.

    Will always use :p

Haha, one of the first things I did when I saw the new layout was adblock the side bar. I don't like the new Google because it looks like a big page of ads. But I'm sure I'll just get used to it.

I wish they hadn't abandoned their 21 word policy.

My eyes sort of dislike the added bar on the side, but overall it doesn't affect me much. I'm used to the old, simple Google though.

Agreed 100%. The first time I saw it, I was reminded of those bad ad-filled search engines, the names of which escape my memory for now. Old Google back! This one's a pain.

I hate it. Thank god for the Greasemonkey addon that removes it.

Wasn't Google's whole thing about simplicity?

I like the new Google look.

& Yes, they we're looking for simplicity.

I actually saw a Google show about there database, advertising, and how the company started. It was quite interesting.

Greasemonkey sounds good to block the sidebar. Any quick guides/tutorials to do that?
In terms of google, I dislike the sidebar. I like reading more of the site description, kinda helps when hunting for specific material. In addition, the new logo lacks gradient. And shadow. And that's what google was all about. It's an eyesore.

It makes it look like Ask.

Thankfully though I removed it. Just DL Greasemonkey, a Firefox application, and search for GM remove google sidebar, and hopefully find what you're looking for.
