Not sure if this is even in the right section...

Inflate Together

This is for people who need a partner to inflate something with, or can help inflating items.

PM the person you want to partner up with :)

Do not say the item you're trying to inflate!

TNT may find you, or other people may try to take away your opportunity to inflate items!

Be vague with the cost of the item!

Format:

Name:

Cost of item:

Estimated # of items left:

Rarity:

Estimated Price after inflation:

Notes:

1. Some people may say "Selling 52 of these"

Add 52 to the total # if so

2. Subtract the number of items you have from the total amount left

I'll start off.

Just wondering, did you already have a certain item in mind, or is that just generic?

I've heard people saying that you can get iced for purposely inflating an item. Is this true?

Oh ffs. You can't get iced for inflating the item by yourself. You only get iced for doing it with other people, and you get iced fast. But you also get iced from autobuying, score sending and actually you just inevitably will get iced anyway on neopets so GL.

yes you can. TNT posted in the neopian times purposefully inflating an item will get you frozen.

Whether they catch you or not is another matter. I think it's probably easier to find one person inflating items as opposed to many people :/

Depends on the item i guess.

Oh really? Not even if you have enough to purchase all of an item available on the tp or shop wizard?

Hi TNT, I have a question about inflating. Let's say that someone (just one person) bought all of an item off the Wiz and put them on the TP for more than unbuyable. Would that be okay? I know it's not if it's multiple people, but what about a single person? Thanks. ~a1m
We have said before that anyone is free to buy any quantity of an item, as long as they in no way encourage (or "hint") to others that they should help to inflate the item. While this still holds true, please tread carefully when purposefully inflating items. Are you sick of hearing about "intention" yet? Too bad! ;D Before you buy up lots of items, consider your intention. Are you simply investing, or is your mind following a more sinister course? One thing that would throw you out of any grey area into downright scamming is this scenario: You buy up all of one item and begin to sell them via the Trading Post, getting offers for more than what you paid. You're still okay at this point because you are in no way misrepresenting the item, and demand will dictate the final sale price. While we hardly encourage it, it does fall within our rules. Now say you put several of them on the Trading Post for 500k (even though no one is buying at that price) and then offer one of them for trade on a paint brush that is worth 500k. The seller of that item sees your others on the post and assumes they really are worth 500k and accepts your offer... you have officially become a scammer. There is a line (fine as it may be) between inflation for investment and inflation for the purpose of scamming. Please don't cross it.

Quite often in your Editorials and rules, you have said that it is against the rules for a group of people to get together and purposely inflate items to corner a market. You state that it is okay if only one person does this by themselves, but it seems that nowadays the name of the game is "get with the group and buy up all of an item." How are people being allowed to corner markets like this when it has been stated that group inflation is against the rules? ~kalis_coraven
If you strongly believe certain players are grouping to inflate items, please, by all means, send in a detailed report about their shenanigans. Such things are very subtle, and we rely on you honest players to give us a heads up when you think your misbehaving Neo-peers are up to no good.

Also, to reiterate a past Editorial, yes, one person can buy up all the items they want. However, if they make them unbuyable and suddenly the price jumps from 99k to, say, 600k and start getting offered on expensive items, then it's considered scamming.

    Edit: Link
    Link 2

Edit: So point is it's actually not okay for people to inflate alone either, I stand corrected. It's also apparently very subtle :shifty:. Though one person can buy up as many items they want, if they don't have the intention to scam.

I plan on holding on to them for a while.
QUITE A WHILE. But idc what my partners do anyhow, just as long as we can clear the market.

You hold them in your gallery... and one day... you just feel the need for money for some item for your dream pet... and you dont know the price... and you set up quite a high price as your asking price....

I knew a lot of people with over 100+ millions who were frozen for mass inflating. They weren't even bothering to conceal it, though.

It is OKAY to inflate an item by yourself. Just don't use the word "inflate." Use "speculate."

Anyway, a few warnings when carrying out group inflation...

    1) Watch out for "bail outs"
Bail outs are people who take advantage of the efforts of the other inflaters. These people "bail out" of the plan by selling the items way ahead of time, causing the plan to fail. These people are only concerned for their own profits.

    2) Scams
Do not invest in retarded bullshit simply because someone told you to. They could just be wanting to sell their hard to sell shit to you.

Watch out for people trying to get you to invest in:

    1) TCGs
    2) Trading cards
    3) Species Weapons
    4) Retired food
    5) Retired fish/furniture

If you would like advice, you may PM me.

I just stopped reading after the 3rd post so suck it if this was already said.

Since investing takes patience and in most cases, lots of times and to avoid your inflation issue; would you not be able to just let it sit in your gallery or safe box for a few months and then selling it then?

I know what Im doing when I get rich( 50+ million). I have one item in mind that I can completly Buy out, its retired and has a demand that isn't too low. Once I buy out said Item, by myself, I'll wait for a few months and see if any knew ones hit the market, and buy them out as well. Once I feel like I have them all, I'll just place them in TP for a few million and wait. If Im the only person that has that Item, and someone needs it, well Its bound to sell eventually.

To avoid direct violation of the inflation rule though, when you put them up on TP you wouldn't be able to price it, otherwise it counts as scamming. At least that is what I interpreted from reading those NT articles.

Ahh, but I could still send Neomails and tell people the price that I want, that it isn't scamming because they would ask me for the price.

TNT really are a bunch of bitches, If I own all of one certain Item, then I should have the right to make it any price that I want.

Yes but what you are implying is totally different from what actually occurs in this game. Just because you should be able to do something, it doesn't mean TNT are people and actually consider that shit can happen and this is an exaggerated real life situation. They don't understand the concept of it and because of that they blatantly out right refuse to accept it, the only reason why you are allowed to do it at all though is because everyone does it on this game and they would need to freeze even more people.

Its kind of sad how far they take it, it's an online gaming site, not some sort of strictly run economy. Damn! :WTF:
