It works on fish too--possibly other animals. It only works when they're fresh and the muscle cells are still alive. It has something to do with the salt activating the sodium channels and ATP in the cell. It's been a while since I took biology, maybe a bio major can give a better description?
hmm i guess that would make sense, i took biology more recently and that sounds about right... but if that's the case, that would mean it works on any animal, interesting to look into

Hey. You know, according to studies, women are likely to underestimate their IQ. Apparently, it's called the Downing effect, and I heard about it on the internets.

Cleopatra (69-30 BC) lived closer in time to the moon landing (1969 AD) than to the Great Pyramid (2560 BC)
This is an amazing video of the current 3D map of the known universe. We are so incredibly insignificant.
John Tyler, the 10th president of the United States from 1841-1845, has two grandsons that are still alive.

Why start something you can't continue? If you want to insult me, at least make sure it's something you can back up when I call you on it.

EEEEEEEW About John Tyler's grandkids. That means that John's son, Lyon G. Tyler had kids when he was 68 and 72 years old, in the 1920's. OLD BALLS. And that was before Viagra was invented. Nasty. Nasty.
