Alrighty, so, mommy says I have to pay rent the day I turn 18. Whatever.
We live in the middle of nowhere, so, getting a job means finally getting my permit(then license), or, her driving me around. (which she's too lazy to do.)
Yup, i'm 17 with no permit and NO IDEA HOW TO DRIVE because there's nobody around willing to help me out.
Everytime i'm like "Hey mom, PERMIT" she makes up some bull shit excuse as to why she won't take me to go get mine/teach me how to drive.
Her favorite is that she didn't get her license until she was 23, because her mom couldn't afford it/didn't have the time, (while my mom does), and she feels like she has to make me wait.
Otherwise it's just "Uhhhhhh.....you're not responsible?" or "Busy playing Zelda gtfo*

Seriously, how does she expect me to pay rent if I can't get a job? o__o

SO GUYS, wtf can I do. :/
I feel like a loser for not working or being able to drive, and i'm asking you guys what I can do to help myself out here since bitchzilla is too busy playing farmville to give me the time of day .__.

get a bike? go green. and i dont say that to try to be funny it really is a reasonable way to get around. i guessing since its the middle of nowhere its a small town which means a bike would be useful in your case to get from place to place

Actually a pretty decent idea, but
    1) Town is about 15 miles from here.
    2) It snows pretty heavily here for about half the year. :/

Really sweet of you georgie but believe me, there's nothing. xD
Honeslty just a bunch of dairy farms and what not.

I feel your pain. My mother is exactly the same, We get benefits in this country quite lucky really considering there is no jobs around here :( I got like £50 a week and my mum wanted £40 of that.
She also is never off the Wii and CBA to take me out and drive with me, I mean im trying to save for my test and shes robbing me blind.

i think your just going to have to explain to her that you have thought long about it and withput your driving permit there litterally is NO WAY for you to get to and from a job unless she will take you.

    Oooooh gurl, I feel you.
Have you graduated high school yet?
I just moved back into a tiny ass town (after living in a major city) where the closest job is a 30 minute drive, I'm 20 next month and have a driving phobia (panic attacks, ahh! working on it though) so my only option for money right now is going back to school and selling shit on the interwebs. So online school would be your best bet, you can prolly qualify for grants which go towards cost of living and what have you.

Then smiles and laughs like it's funny when I get pissed/sad.

I don't mean for this to sound wrong, but stand up to your fucking mom yo.

She needs to learn that you're not her puppet and she can't just do whatever the hell she wants on her time all the time.

Tell her she's being selfish and just take her car keys and tell her you are going to get your permit, see how that goes.

As for the job, if she tries to make you pay rent and you can't get a job because she won't get you your license, just pack up your shit and leave, and she might realize that you are serious about all of this.

Lol. Sad thing is I do stand up to her. Like I said earlier when I do, she thinks it's funny.
As for leaving, i'm most likely going to North Carolina after school, just like i said, no money :p

Don't worry about sounding wrong, my moms a bitch. .__. And I don't mean to sound like a spoiled snobby little kid, but she really is.
Taking her keys/car = getting the cops called. No thanks.

Well I'm not really sure what else you can do, except tell her that if she doesn't help you out with this that you tell her that once her retirement money has run out, that you won't even pay for her to rot in a nursing home, but in a homeless shelter if she is going to treat you like this.

I told my parents that once when they said, "well we will pull the plug on your college!" and I told them that I won't make enough money to put them into a nursing home and they can rot on the streets.

They didn't bring that up again.

I'm 19 with no car, no license, no permit and I'm terrified of driving, but I have a job and luckily I have my boyfriend's help getting wherever I need to be.
Is your mom the type of person to put her threats into action, and would she actually kick you out if you had no way of paying rent? Also, have you asked your mom if she'd be willing to help you look for a job and help get you to and from work or are you just assuming you're on your own? I mean, it sounds like you need to sit your mom down and have a serious adult conversations addressing all of this. That being said, I have a difficult mom and I guess I'm kind of in the same boat you're in, although my mom never asked me to pay rent. Instead, she just starting kicking me out of the house whenever she felt like it once I turned 18. I've been staying with my boyfriend and his family for a while now, and I'd like to go back home, but I still haven't managed not to piss my mom off long enough to move back permanently. I know it sucks, but just hang in there.

My mom isn't the sit down and talk type. If she hears something she doesn't like, she immediately gets up and leaves.
And we've been through this argument of me getting a job for a while.
And yes, she'll kick me out, she's done it billions of times before.

Just a pain in the ass situation.
