So recently I just got into neopets, and made quite a bit in a few days. Now I wanted to invest in building my account up, so I started to use the score sender for trophies. Basically I'm still waiting (3 days now) for my trophies, and I don't want to get so many in a little time span, so I decided to work on my pet. I have two questions:

1. Are lab ray maps worth getting?
2. How much are they now a days?(full set)

1.Ask this question to yourself, do you care if your neopet changes color, gender, or species, if not, then get it.

    2. A price check thing I use. They update like once a week.

    Alright. And another newb-question I don't know is, what's a "shell" account?

Lab maps are a personal preference. I have two because I enjoy adopting pets from the pound, zapping them, then dumping them back in the pound.

A shell account is an empty account, usually aged or about to age. Typically, they dont have any NP or pets on them either.

And in my personal opinion, I think Lab Maps are worth it, whats 1mil when you can get an expensive color and then sell it?
1mil is nothing in my book, pocket change yo!

Lab maps are definitely worth it. It gets really frustrating though when it's not working the way you want. (I swear it hates me, it keeps changing any Kacheek and Shoyru I own into other cheap ugly Neopet)

It's getting awfully expensive this month tho tbh. It's more than 1m per set now even if purchased separately :/

Here's our price guide on the lab map. It's real accurate.
    http://www.neocodex.... laboratory map

It's cheaper to buy pieces individually. Buy the cheap pieces but wait for the others to come down.
Labs are ok for training you have to be smart about it though.

If you want to zap for the species/colors. Here are stats on that:
    http://www.neocodex....&module=labzaps

As you can see it's better for stats.

    worth getting.

usually over time, your pet stats will increase. furthermore it gives you the chance of getting certain neopets/color you desire.

I've had good success with the lab. I wanted a faerie and mallow grundo. I got both. It takes a lot of patience though. Right now I'm zapping for the hell of it and it's very annoying.

    ETA: typo

Yes they are worth it just fo the fun factor.
fun factor being zapping your pet for a different color or stats..or doing the same thing on those pounded badly named pets out there.

It's fun to just have a lab rat pet and zap it into all sorts of random things. My pets been just about everything and is probably gender confused by now.

I think maps are worth buying in order to increase your pet's hp and strength rapidly....
However,, you may need to spend a lot of codestones or armoured neggs to increase your pet's defence...

It's worth getting if you like to have cool painted pets and the excitement of not knowing what you are getting. But for me, eventually it got boring and I kept forgetting to zap my pet everyday. It's not that exciting if you don't get a color zap for a long time.

I'd say get it, is probably worth it unless you have like no good zaps for 2 months, like me <_<

But, that's for people that's really bad luck xD Since you are on a cheating site, 1mil is that hard to get, ab and ull make it back in no time :) You can sell the pets if your pet zapped into a popular color or whatever, and put your lab on a shell, if you don't want it anymore, sell the account :)

Is cheaper if you get the lab maps separate  Of course, more work and etc.

It's definitely worth it. Although you have to keep trainning strength and defense since lab increases hp alot.

bahhaha. Sorry. (I just am amused that people think of NOT getting the labs) OF COURSE get them. They can easily make your account look 100x better. :p I usually zap to get like 2 pets that look nice. Then you zap the 3rd/4th pet to get their stats up for the Battledome. :)

I dont know, I recently got mine and i dont find it all that impressive, although the lab map seems to be going gradually up in price so maybe get it before it goes higher?

It was worth it for me, I do not use codestone yet, but I went from at least 50 hp to 550+ with only a few clicks a day for some years. And lately I got some nice paintbrushe wearables from it. But all the other stats are really average with lab ray.

It's worth collecting instead of buying. Just wait for those random events to collect them.

well you can do that, but the secret lab maps dont come up as often as petpet lab maps.
Unless of course, you dont really wanna use the lab ray, then I guess waiting for parts is okay.

It sounds like this has been said before but the Lab Ray can be a great way of making neopoints. It's really a one time cost that can easily enable you to earn hundred's of thousands of neopoints.

Also, if you're not into zapping neopets to sell or trade, it is also a great way of training your pet. While your pet can lose 2/3 stat points sometimes - the number of stat points it will gain will EASILY outweigh this. I say maybe out of 10 times, your pet will gain stats like 6-8 times, and lose stat points 1-2 times so it doubles as a GREAT way to train.

However, if you're into restocking/AB/sniping/whatever the case may be - I would suggest maybe getting 200-500k more then a set may cost. That way you're free to continue your merchanting habits rather then struggle to build up a pool of money you can invest again.

Just my 2 cents though :)
