Exams have been quickly approaching, so I've been more and more desperate to find distractions. Today, I decided to play a randomized Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke playthrough and blog about it on Codex.
The basic rules:
My name. I can do that.
My choices were Magmar, Primeape, and Voltorb. I was actually going to go with Magmar, but I was afraid I'd always regret not choosing the Pig Monkey Pokemon.
I rescued Professor Birch from a squirrel and got to keep my Primeape as a reward! I named him Jim, and he came with a Dragon Claw because he was badass.
Moving to the next town to find May, I ran into a Pokemon in Route 101. Useless, but still disappointing since I didn't have any Poke Balls.
I passed through the useless Odale Town into Route 103, still looking for May. Ran into a Butterfree, which would have actually been useful. Too bad, still no Poke Balls.
Finally! The randomizer decide to rename her Elitetrainer Landon.
Wait. This is a Ghost Pokemon. I only have Fighting and Normal moves. Shit shit shit
Jim turned out to be absolutely useless. RIP JIM. And my playthrough.
I think my failure was a sign. A sign that I should stop fucking playing Pokemon and actually study.
