The Publishers Are Against Me!

Posted by Elindoril, 20 April 2014 · 1014 views

I swear all the anime publishers hate me and love my credit card hard earned cash. They're all banding together to release all the anime I want all at the same time. Well okay not at the same time, but close enough that I'd want to combine everything to ship together to save on packing (save the trees!) and shipping costs.

All together there's seven (COUNT THAT. SEVEN.) box sets all coming out. They range from $35 to $80 each. In total it's going to cost just shy of $400.

How do all these companies expect me to afford all of their products if they shove it in my face all at once?

I guess I'll be eating ramen noodles and drinking tap water for the next month or two!

Inconvenience: Part Deux

This is pretty much what my room is going to look like for the next 6 weeks while I (impatiently) wait for the fumigation to come and go.

All of these shenanigans come at a very inopportune time for me as not only am I getting hyped to start practicing to Jet Force Gemini speedruns, but I also just ordered various pieces of equipment to allow me to stream not only these practices but hopefully much more in better than 480i resolution. (Ever try to play a rhythm game when the screen is all blurry? It's not fun.)

I'm also advised not to unpack anything that I've "quarantined" for the entire 6 week period, leaving me to develop a funk out of sheer boredom. With nothing else to do I'll be forced to actually do my homework ahead of schedule instead of seconds before the class is due creating some sort of contained Twilight Zone inside my apartment.

All I can see is I really hate bed bugs and the magical force fields surrounding their eggs which prolong my suffering.

An Unexpected Twist: Inconvenience Ahead!

hate, bugs
There was a notice left on my door from my landlord. I was expecting something rather routine such as an inspection on our deck again, but unfortunately it was something different; something very inconvenient for a collector.

It was a notice regarding a potential bed bug infestation somewhere in the suites and that there is to be 3 sprays, each every two weeks, and that I have to prepare for the first one coming in just a couple days with an inspection coming one day prior to the first spray.

First, for the inspection, I have to move any furniture away from the walls so they can check around the baseboards to know the severity of the infestation if there is one locally at all. For the spray I have to bag and seal everything off my bookshelf, my clothes, and any clutter (Also known as every single damn console and cord I have hooked up).

So basically, for the next 6 weeks I'm going to have an incredibly messy rooms with bags full of fragile items all piled together just waiting to be broken so some stupid bugs can be killed.

I love life so much.
