You have either choice of a Fireman's Axe or Samurai Sword. Try explain why you would use the one that you choose.

Samurai sword. I have a katana in my room actually (bought while in Asia) and it's pretty sharp.

The fireman axe is definitely more durable but might get stuck if you hack into a zombie -> giving the other zombies time to eat your brains.

I would definitively take the samurai sword because I find axes too heavy to be used

Fireman's Ax. That way, even if the blade comes off, you still have a blunt object to smash their heads in.

It would also be useful in apocalypse situations other than killing the zombies.

Definitely the katana... but only if nihontou.... true nihontou perform perfectly in the times of the most difficult tameshigiri~~~

nihontou can slice though a rose petal as smooth as it can slice through a human torso. There is no other weapon as deadly and effective for killing of human as the nihontou. （￣ー￣）

AXE. Durr. Hack your way through a crowd, NOT slice. What; make a few cuts on a Zombie vs. Sliced in half.

I guess the question is asking; use a quicker, (the lighter part), but weaker weapon, or use a heavy (slower), but stronger weapon. For a zombie; from my video game backround, haha, even slicing of an few limbs or so won't stop them, haha, and that power is already hard to achieve with a sword. Your best chance is an Axe, The power difference is gigantic.
-One might argue the Sword goes farther; but really, they're both close range, what; saves you a feet or two? Either way, if you're going to get surrounded, you're going to get surrounded, might as well take the axe and see if youc an hack your way out.

@SailorMoon- Lol @ #10... But; that's assuming that you have perfect control of the sword. Who here can say that they have that training to slice through a body without struggle?

you need fatal blows (preferably the head for decapitation). the axe might lead to more body shots and repetitive swings that could tire you out =p

sword sounds sweet, but unlikely you would have a beautiful blade that slices through zombies like butter

they come in different weights you know

i weigh 117 lbs and cannot do a pull up, but i can still swing a splitter and chop wood
it is about momentum not overall strength
