I was able to get the Battledome Veteran avatar on two of my new neopets accounts. First time the I tried the battledome with them... I tought you had to fight in the old dome to get it?

I think it depends on the pets.
Maybe you catched some older pets from the pound?

Actually you can get it from any new account. I tried it on account I use as a backup shell with no bd history or pounded pets and I got the avatar

I'm hoping it's a glitch. What's the point in being able to get the battledome veteran avatar if you're not a battledome veteran. Ya know?!

My thought exactly, unless TNT decided on a new definition for veteran. It makes utterly no sense. Is the Battle Dome still in Beta? I never followed that stuff.

Today's (5/10/13) editorial said it was a glitch that has now been fixed. The avatar was not intended for anyone not participating in the old Battledome. I'm glad I got it on my new account when I did!
Hey, TNT! *hands you a mysterious box* I wouldn't open that unless it's in a cage. Anyway, I just went to the Battledome and was awarded the Battledome Veteran avatar. As far as I know this avatar is retired, and I didn't use the old Battledome. Is this a glitch? ~flames_unleashed
While not "retired," the avatar should not be awarded to anyone that didn't participate in the old Battledome. This bug has now been fixed.
