Oftentimes, I've tried to figure out the purpose of living, the destiny of humanity, and its role in this universe. Alas, I'm not sure there is or we will ever find an answer to that. At the end of all time, however, nothing means anything.
The purpose of human beings, and the only thing I could conclude, is to further the survival of its species through any means, whether to take care of its own, create its own, cooperate with its own, and destroy those that threaten its survival. We are just animals after all, animals with more complex thinking patterns. (I'm going to avoid the question of why strive for survival if we all die anyway => that is too much for right now haha). Anything outside of that is our own individually selected purposes, for what we believe we want to do and what not.
Of course, I'm not religious, so I won't drag destiny and virtue and what not in. That's not for me to declare in that sense.
