Not too long ago there was a mass personal information leak. If you haven't updated your password in years chances are somebody knows it.

hacking is for noobs, guessing the passwords are for the masters

If by "hacked" you mean they used a password from a list to get in it, then sure. reCaptchas won't help in that regard.

even the captchas are useless. There are pages that if you pay than a bot will do the captchas for you.

@WarezHaxor This is why I don't think reCaptchas helped much in preventing any hackings. lol By "hacking" I don't know too much about what's a technical hacking so I mean by any means to get into an account that's not yours. So in that sense I really don't understand how is mining anything from user lookups help accessing any account. Sure hackers find their targets easier without reCaptchas but still if someone have access to accounts, I don't see lookups help them access any more than not having to manually login to check those accounts. (In which the reCaptchas aren't even on login pages so it can be done really easily with a bit of skills)
Though I wonder, does "DDoS" on the lookups help hacking at all? Does that mean there are data leaks just by accessing the lookups?
P.S. I still remember someone thinks there's a need of reCaptchas on AC stat pages "to combat bots" while the only one bot I think that's making use of that page would be the legit (I guess) petpage. lol

The majority of accounts created on neopets are play for a day and go away. If you are going to go to the effort of hacking you want one with potential to be profitable. Obviously, battledome wins are an indication of good battledome weapons, rare and valuable bling on your pets image is an indication of good clothing in SDB, awards are an indication that the player has participated in events, and gotten valuable prizes that have appreciated over the years. Activity equals wealth.
Also, when the player was last activity can be very useful information to get away with a hack.
Just my guess.

Lmao I remember doing that years ago. It was obviously way easier back then and I did it for fun, just to see if I could do it

I can't stand all the newbie hacker wannabes that are lurking like vultures on neopets.....I'M STILL PLAYING ON THIS ACCOUNT....shoo the fuck off already.
Every seemingly nice gesture is someone looking for a nice account to catch
