According to the cable company reps who keep calling me, it's because I haven't upgraded to the XTREME GIGABAND PANAMAX FLAVOR-BLASTED PRO PACKAGE WITH HBO, which is only $5 more per month for the first 6 months and five billion dollars per month after that.

Yes! I have noticed this as well!

If I understand this correctly, my data on my phone works better/faster to download or stream than the wireless. It's quite frustrating because I pay more for wifi than data!

Most home routers are terrible. Try Ubiquiti Unify if you are on a budget and want better wifi than cellular can offer.
