That makes more sense and to be clear not all npcs are background. There are plenty of games with important and awesome npcs. It just depends on the game.

But damn, mages represent on Codex.

I agree, there are pivotal NPCs in all RPGs. I'm sure any of us here can list an NPC we have the hots for (Queen Ayrenn love me pls).

Do you mind posting some pics of your tarot cards? I love different tarot cards because the art is always really interesting. I appreciate that you took the time to answer all my questions too. It's pretty neat that you've worked as an archivist in a library. Any crazy library stories? My cousin is a program manager in a city library and she has a lot of really hilarious and weird stories about people at the library.

Sure, hang on, I have lots of pictures of my cards from doing readings for people ^_^

I recently replaced my main deck, which was the Universal Rider-Waite, because one of the cards got misshapen which fucks up the whole deck.  For about 15 years, the Universal Waite was my main deck (see below)

Spoiler

Last year, I got the DruidCraft Tarot as a secondary deck.  I don't connect with it as well, and it is too big for my hands, so I rarely use it.  It's still a lovely deck

Spoiler

The deck that I got to replace my main is called the Modern Spellcaster's Tarot, and I am IN LOVE.  It is small enough for my old painful hands, beautiful, inclusive, the imagery is awesome... I just love it.  I haven't done many readings with it since I just got it, but here are some pics from the internets

Spoiler

And last but not least, my ExtraOrdinary Oracle deck.  It is a limited-edition, locally designed and published Oracle deck which I got at the local Pagan Pride festival last year.  I don't use it in many readings for other people and when I do it's usually only one card at a time, so I don't have many of my own pics of these

The art on your DruidCraft deck is beautiful. And I absolutely love the Oracle deck. These are so cool.

I'm a full on fighter XD I'm usually a chicken but I do fight safely (as in I care way too much about health and less risky)
Super fun though :)

I always pick archer, I enjoy kiting. High mobility, high damage but pretty squishy if you get caught. It's a big deal being able to get a few hits in on something before they can touch you, especially if it's dem juicy crits. Second pick would then be rogue.

I absolutely hate playing as a mage in anything. Relying on mana not running out, or carrying 100 potions taking up valuable inventory space, wearing robes making you the squishiest of the squishies, I hate it. I remember watching my friend play an rpg where he would have to make sure he's got the right spell, cast it, then spend 15 seconds looking for and equipping his next spell which pauses the fighting, rinse and repeat. It was so frustrating to watch :p

There is one thing I like about mages tho, I see one and lick my lips. Easy targets. Low health and low defence usually, that's an archer's wet dream :p One stun and dun.

Speaking of Shaman, I finally got my new guy to level 110 on US servers. No more slumming it as the druid I mistakenly boosted.
