Are the scary computer "viruses" good or bad?

IMO they have many good uses, they can be used to access your PC on the road basically anywhere arround the world! Just set the ip to connect to as a dns server that you can edit and youve basically got yourself control of your computer hundreds of miles away, like your sitting at your desk You can also transfer files from computer to computer. And other cool things.

But the bad side only happens when people get mean, and send these servers to unsuspecting people who dont want you on their comp

Hmm, I never though of using them like a FTP server, but that's pretty smart. I don't much like them myself, whether they're good or bad, just another thing I probably don't need on my computers

I think a remote administration tool becomes a trojan when sent with malice intent

I guess you have a good point, it can be very useful but most of the time, Trojans aren't sent with that intention.

I say bad. While they have their good uses the majority of what they are used for is for terrible things. So basically hackers ruined it for ya Eggy.

I don't know much 'about trojans but I see your point. Obviously the are good if used with good intentions and bad if used with evil intentions

I'm against trojans. I'm no hacker or cracker even (well I have some knowledge but don't use any of it) but it just makes it easier for some stupid noob to get one and start thinking they're the shit because they trojanned someone who didn't bother scanning the program. Sure, some people can use it the right way, but it's just stupid how easy some people can get a hold of one.
