Legal or Illegal, it dosen't matter. If the uploader/provider has a legal copy then what they are doing is perfectly legal (well, not considering a few laws...so maybe legal) Either way provided you are using a disclai'mer or policy of some sort it will be legal/fine. lol  :ncodex:

Typhoon, dont be so damaging! He's trying to do something cool, and you keep bashing on hi'm!

Lay off Typhoon damit.

I'm backing typhoon with this..

Until I have sufficent evidence this is legal,I aint using it.

Admins: If this IS illegal,The whole board and its owners can be sued for it.Think about it.

I'm just hosting an ftp server on my computer where people can provide music for the radio station.

How would anyone know if its legally or illegally obtained music?

I saw another community get sued for having a radio station with illicit contents.

Dont you dare get this board shut down..make razor host it elsewhere if he has too.

It's not nice to threaten other members, I'm sure Razor got all his music legally, not like it's hard to do. I don't think any members would want this site to be shut down.

This notice is directed to you from the admins at NeoCodex:

We feel that the "NeoCodex" radio condones or demonstrates si'milar to illegal activity, and we may get penalized for it, so we have reached a consensus. We are to remove all affiliation of the radio station from NeoCodex. This includes changing the name of the radio station, and possibly disabling the subdomain. So change the name of the station, and if you have any questions, ask noitidart, SL64, Hydro, or another admin. Even though the station may not contain illegal matter, there is too strong of a resemblence, and there is a high risk of danger in letting the radio station represent us.

yes, I am renaming the radio station to RazorJamz.

Everything is the same on how you connect to it, exept the server is now razorjamz.servemp3.com instead of ncodexradio.servemp3.com

Sooo just replace ncodexradio with razorjamz.

Ok, sounds good. I hope you understand out point of view on this, cause really, this isn't a good idea (in legal terms), so we should play it safe.

"Unauthorized copying, hiring lending, public preformance brodcasting of recorded works prohibited."
You will find this stuff on any of the cds, while the music may be lagally obtained, oits still illegal to brodcast it. This is one of the reasons I shuthed down the TNONCRS

the admins have reached a consensus so there is nothing we can do. Live with it. you can still use the radio it just got a name-change. If you have anything to say to the RIAA about these laws I recommend you contact them via eff.org which is all about helping screw the RIAA in every way or form possible. So please do not complain.

Thank You

You don't have to shut it down, just change the name or any affiliation it has to NeoCodex.. the last thing we need is the RIAA on our ass...
