It depends on what you value. BitTorrent will not give you the best overall speeds for your download, but it is second to none when looking for organized and full albums, which is something I enjoy.

Not to be a Torrent pusher, but BitTorrent delivers the books and games more reliably. I can say I've never found a torrent with a virus of any shape inserted-- mainly, because if there was one, people would comment, stop sharing, and shut it down.

I've seen virus'd torrents before, actually downloaded them before as well. But if you're careful about what you download, and you use a nice client like Azureus that allows you to see what files you're downloading before it actually downloads, then you should be fine.
