why giggs?

i believe giggs is one of their most valuable players,

and even as he's old, he has some speed.

I think Giggs has done pretty well to adapt his game. I mean he is about 32 and can not run half as fast as he once could but he is still a good performer and did well for us last season. Next season could see Scholes and Giggs slowly lose their place in the team due to the new signings.

i think his cunningness is one of the primary attributes which helps him get past defenders, even w/o his speed. wub.gif

Charity shield is called the Community shield I believe, so I think it will be a Liverpool vs Man U affair. Quite exiciting.

Thing about Manure is, you only have constiuency, which helps you win the leauge, but on the day you can play really awful, just look in the Leauge Cup, FA Cup and Champions league.

I don't think Manure will do too well in the 08/09 season as their players will either retire or reach their peak, Ronaldo and Rooney won't get any better (they're at their max), scholes, giggs and etc will retire, and you desprately need a constant goalkeeper who won't fumble like Van De Sarr.

i think rooney will have a point to prove, after being put into the shadows by the performances by c. ronaldo.

yepp. charity shield is the opener, 1st vs 2nd.

I'm a "fan" of Man U. I'm not really big into the football scene, but i've been to about twelve of the games and enjoyed them. My dad has supported them since he was 12. Although he has stopped going to matches due to the takeover, and their money grabbing ways.

The takeover was never going to be a good thing....at least in the short term. Maybe in the long term it will be good for the club but at first it caused a lot of unrest. It's wierd how we never hear anything of the Glazers at all....they do not appear in Public much which is also probably not a good thing as it does not build up much of a rapport with the fans.

For some reason I thought it was the previous winner vs first...but then again that wouldn't make sense in some cases.

I thought it was the winner of the premiership ad the winner of the FA cup that played in the Community Shield.....is that right?

It's the winners of the Premiership vs the winners of the FA Cup, otherwise it would be Man Utd vs Chelsea most of the time...

If the same teams wins both the Premiership and the FA Cup then that team plays against the 2nd in the Premiership.

Yeah £27 million apparently, should be a quality buy I think since he's still pretty young so he can have a few good years for them.

The premiership just doesn't suit some players though....for example you only have to look at Juan Sebastian Veron....sucked for Utd....sucked for Chelsea and is now playing at his best again now that he has gone back to Argentina.

Yep unfortunately, their FA Cup Final was quite possibly the worst football match I've ever seen...well the first half was, I turned over at half time because it was so boring.

I'm a bit confused as to what score you want too lol.

When is the Community Shield then?

....and what are your thought on Utd possibly getting Tevez? His transfer developed while I was on my hols so I'm not sure what is going on with it. I hope we get him though....even at a cost of £38 mill (thats the reported cost at least).
