"Well you can get an E6750 for less than a E6600 currently"
Which would mean that it is out right this second, and right this second, is currently less than the E6600, if you worded it different I wouldnt of said anything
I'll make an updated list within the next hour or so, busy with something atm, or you can feel free to IM me on AIM or MSN

Well seriously consider reconsidering =O
why would you get the slowest C2D processor when there are price drops coming soon and you can probably get a far better processor for the same price in 3 weeks?
Also I assume you have a computer case and dvd roms, etc?

The x1950 does better than the 8600. http://www.anandtech...aspx?i=2970&p=5
The processor is slow stock, but overclocks to the same speed as an E6420 or E6600 would overclock to.
And the build is made for today, not 3 weeks from now. I can't make a rig based on price drops I don't even know are going to happen.
I am salvaging the roms I have now and the case will be this one:

For now I suppose I'll wait to see what the new release of Intel processors will hold.

I dunno where ATI DX10 cards fit into that.
no kidding, i was only saying the cards that were around the price range he would consider
8800Ultra > 8800GTX > 2900XT > 8800GTS 640mb > 8800GTS 320mb > X1950 Pro > 8600GTS
2900XT about ties with the 640mb, you can say its better or worse
