Well, actually he is. He actually does have a phd in clinical psychology. I even went to his website to double check, since I've said this before:
"Dr. Phil has a B.A. from Midwestern State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from North Texas State University with a dual area of emphasis in clinical and behavioral medicine."

Only problem is that doesn't make him a doctor (yes, we do call our PhDs doctors but it misleads people in this context to believe he is a medical doctor) in this country You have to be a psychiatrist. Number two problem with "Dr." Phil - He isn't allowed to practice. He has no license anymore. Number three problem with "Dr." Phil - He actually told someone that their son is going to be a serial killer when he grows up if he doesn't get psychiatric help. Anyone who has studied serial killers knows that there are no tests. There are no signs. There are only commonalities between serial killers. And giving someone such bullshit advice even if he were a doctor would discredit him in every way.
