No...just no.

I don't really understand where the misconception comes from though. When was the last time anyone was actually warned ( verbally or other ) for spamming ? The only time it really goes into play is when someone is posting 60 + times of nothing but "lol" or something like that. The only activity that causes is people bashing the poster anyways.

Maybe. I admittedly haven't looked around way to much at the other sites, but from what i did see I don't remember them announcing what the difference between spam and just chatting was. >.<

How would you go about making it more clear to everyone?

It was poorly coded and molested the server too often so it was removed a while ago. I miss it too...

Like just the other day... Awaken Angel decided to make 6 topics with just the number 12 at the title and first post before I stopped him with a posting suspension. That was excessive spam though. Regular 'spam' is never warned for, at most a verbal warning.

So you stopped him before he got to 60...?

Although if it's at 400 a day then we're almost where we were before the decoder came along and 'fixed' things for a while

It bounces from day to day. It tends to range from 400 to almost 700. I'm worried about too much activity to be honest. I may have halted downtimes for now, but I'm not sure how much activity the site can take

More activity = more advertising revenue = easier to upgrade server?

I'd say the host sucks, but once again, not my choice to make

I stopped him because he didn't look like stopping anytime soon, and I had no idea why he was spamming the number 12.... was like a flashback of seaseme street.
He had his quitting topic at the same time and I figured he was trying to be an ass after deciding to leave (although from what I heard, he was an ass the whole time he was here anyway).

You quoted me and then said the exact same thing I said just exactly opposite.O.O I said no one has been warned recently for spamming unless they where saying something like just "lol" 60 times. Which is exactly what he has done so once again.

It's partly your choice, you're an admin too. Codex certainly isn't making a loss at the moment anyway I bet. (even when we were paying 4x as much)

...OR, someone says that every time people get promoted, just so they can say 'I told you so' when someone fucks up. It's not the staff that are discouraging spamming members, it's the rest of the member base. I remember when I was newer and spammier (though I was never very spammy in the three word/ 'lol' way) it would always feel like half of the members were happy to join in, but then the other half would pop in, see you having fun and make some mean cutting you down remark. I still see it happen now, a new member posts in too many places and they start getting hated on .

Joshikins, if you're refering to the time I was promoted, you might want to notice that three of the four mod promotions from that time are still standing and the fourth stepped down himself .
