Looking to really get into the battle dome. One thing I do not want to do is buy an item, then in a month have to sell it (at possibly a loss), then buy new ones. I want to get some very high end pieces right away.

Also, how important are pet stats? They seem relatively cheap to increase, as compared to decent items.

Looking for specific names of items of course. Doesn't need to be the absolute best, but pretty good stuff.

I went quite a long way with two Golden Compass equipped.

Just slap those two on and start the training.

I'm assuming you're shooting for single player... if you're shooting for two-player then you're going to have to diversify a little bit XD

It's really just replacing things with the next upgrade over time.

Yeah, this is why I start with the Golden Compasses since I want a vast majority of base funds to go into codestones.

Of course, if you've already got a healthy seeding of funds, it can't hurt to start big!

Pointless to get Y-blaster and HP, Y-blaster is like HP with a just a few less icons for multi-use; plus it's 1m+ already. Look at Ramtor's Spellbook, Scuzzy's Comb, etc. Check em out on IDB. HP is outdated. And scarab rings may seem lame to you, but I still had them equipped on a str+def+hp=300+ pet.

Waste of money for 2p, and I doubt it could be earned in the near future <6months.

Get 2 PCC is ok, but diversify with glowing cauldrons, Pirate captains hat, glittery faerie dust, you do not need t tear, for 2p unless you have huge amounts spare around.
A ton of other items up for good situationals.

I mean if you have a mil get the lab ray... then get your pets level over 20 and only train defense. Lab ray boosts everything else, and on average per month subtracts maybe 1 point of defense. Over level 20 it no longer drops your pet's level to 1, so you never have to gather up a lot of lost ground.

That will leave you pretty poor, so i suggest saving up again and picking up what jcr recommended. Golden compasses are amazing. Next upgrade i would recommend is Yblasters, skip over the NQII 10 iconers. from there shoot for a freezer, then Gbomb/pcc/gshield and on
