I think the location of the jackpot and other small winnings are always at a different place when you play it...it will never be in the same place. That's my theory though.

That is correct, it is constantly shifting around.

The only thing I heard about Buried Treasure is that once somebody finds the co-ordinates with a prize of neopoints, the big treasure is around there somewhere, and it continuously moves in a certain direction, so once you find neopoints you're close to the treasure (that's what I read somewhere).

This is actually correct. There used to be boards on neo all the time. An organization who set up boards to get people to tell their coords and help others get closer to the treasure and such. We should set something like that up here :o

I think the location of the jackpot and other small winnings are always at a different place when you play it...it will never be in the same place. That's my theory though.

No there are set spots each day. The org I was talking bout proved that since every day they would get together and figure out where the treasure exactly was. Many people who tried the game after them (after getting the coords) end up getting bigger and bigger prizes till the treasure was found

Whatever you enable.

There's dailies, avatar alerts, etc.

It's pretty handy and I use it for all my dailies :p

Has anyone here ever found the treasure?
AND
Can anyone confirm from experience any actual pattern to the location?

(I strongly suspect that it's just luck)

When it's in a location, it's in that location for everyone.

When it moves, it moves in a randomized direction.

So basically, if someone else has found a good hit in an area, there will likely be more good spots nearby.

There are also random spots sprinkled around the board, so finding a winner is also not necessarily an indicator that you're on the right track.

Hope I made sense :p

Ok--so, program request:
one that tracks the data, and uses an intelligent search pattern to predict where to click, and to discover whether it has moved again
or... is that just a well-designed way to take down all codex users at once, since they will be the ones getting all the pawkeet treasure?
