Using 1 letter is probably the best. Most crackers just start at 4 letters and continue from there. .

But you can't sign up to anywhere with a password that short since they have that ludicrous 3-4 character minimum hence the brute force apps adopted that policy in the first place

You didn't understand what he was getting at, he was saying to just use a single letter than just use numbers.

Who the hell uses a single character for a password? Unless I completely misinterpreted your post.
