AAA list vs Item Database (results/download)

05 April 2013 - 12:05 AM

After seeing a couple users ask about it, I decided to go ahead and make a list of the more profitable items that restock at the attic. I also decided to test whether or not these lists work better than the database, the theory being that because there are less items for the program to search for, buy time would be faster.

After a week of testing, this is what I found.

Pros/Cons

Since the whole idea is to increase buy speed by decreasing the amount of items the program searches through, I created several lists that I thought would be most useful/profitable.

Overall
On average I had to run the program 2 - 3 hours longer with a list than without.
My buy times went from an average of 630-750ms to 450-550ms.
Fastest buy time with the list was around 400ms, slowest was 680ms.
When testing the lists above, I successfully bought the item 100% of the time.
On average I purchased 3-4 items per day compared to 4-5 using the database.
Despite that, I made more NPs with the list than without.

Please note that these are my experiences and nothing more. I've heard of people having slower buy times with lists, but that wasn't my experience. That being said, I live across the country from Neo, have a slow computer, and have always struggle to get fast buy times, especially with the attic. For anyone who would like to give the lists a try though, here they are.

Also if anyone has any suggestions for other lists that would be profitable, just let me know. :)

How do we feel about an AAA list?

20 March 2013 - 10:45 PM

...for Abrosia? I've seen quite a few people ask about it, both here and elsewhere.

In someways having a list seems kinda pointless since nonadvanced members (I believe) can use the database when restocking in the attic. At the same time though, I was never able to get anything good there unless I had an advanced membership, and even then it was pure luck. Having a list might help that.

I know that the attic is already very competitive, so i'm curious to see if you guys think this would be a good or bad idea.

IF there was a list, it would have to be trimmed down considerably. This leaves a couple questions.

1. How low/high should the profit margin go? As high as possible, or lower so those who pay for advanced membership still have a leg up on the competition?

2. What items should/shouldn't be included on the list? I've seen many people complain about the AAA items being HTS, which is one of the main reasons a list is wanted. Obviously draik eggs, stamps, and other ETS items are most desirable, but what about plushies, MPs, food items, and clothing?

3. Would this even work? Am I right to assume that if the list isn't 107 pages long, like the database is, the program would make purchases slightly quicker? If that's the case, should there be several shorter lists to help increase speed, or would one long list work the same?

Several Money Tree Grabber lists

07 March 2013 - 12:21 AM

So since we now have a money tree grabber program, I figured I'd make a list to go with it. It currently comes in four different flavors, CommonMTG, 5kMTG, 5KPlushieMTG, and InsaneMTG.

CommonMTG includes items that are commonly found at the money tree. These items are usually found in random events and are accidentally donated. The list includes map pieces, codestones, faeries, petpetpets, nerkmids, dubloons, neggs, paint brushes, morphing potions, and more. I based this list off of several others that I found online.

5KMTG includes a large list of items that sell for at least 5k. These items are mostly restockable, and include books, food, toys, furniture, faeries, codestones, and more.

5KPlushieMTG includes a list of plushies that sell for between 5k to 100k. Since there is an avatar for donating a plushie to the money tree, I thought this might be useful.

InsaneMTG combines all of these lists together.

You're only allowed to claim a certain number of items per day from the money tree, and I lack a shell account, so I'd love it if anyone would be willing to help me test these. So far I've had the most luck with the CommonMTG and InsaneMTG. I earned about 60k today from the money tree alone.

Oh, and I also attempted to sort the list from highest to lowest price, but things got kinda jumbled. The exact order isn't correct by far, but generally speaking the higher priced items do appear higher up on the list, especially with 5KMTG and 5KPlushieMTG list.

If anyone has any suggestions of other items that would be good to add, just let me know. :)

Anyone willing to spare a BC vote?

24 July 2012 - 10:36 AM

My little brother entered the beauty contest on Neo. He's a legit player who refuses to cheat and he really wants a trophy. He figured this would be an easy one, but his art is pretty horrible and the account can't post on the boards so he can't even advertise. Would any of you be willing to vote for him? I figure as long as he gets bronze, he'll be thrilled.

I can PM the link to anyone who is interested. :)
