Ddown's NC Guide

Ddown’s Guide to NeoCash

If you frequent the NC Mall Board as much as I do, you’ll have noticed that times are changing when it comes to buying and trading NC items, so I thought I’d put together a guide with some of the more current trends. Please note, I won't be explaining any acronyms I use in this guide, so if you're a beginner to NC this guide might be a bit confusing.

Recent Changes
  • Lower Prices: TNT has reduced prices on Gift Box and Mystery Capsules. GBCs used to run at 250 NC. Now, they’ve been consistently showing up in the mall at only 200 NC. Mystery Capsules, which used to cost 200-250 NC, have topped out at 200 and right now there's a Mystery Capsule in the mall for only 150 NC.
  • Greater Chances: TNT also said they would be giving Mystery Capsules a greater chance of containing re-released or limited edition items. You can see this trend with the new Mystery Island JubJub Power Bounce Suitcases that are in the mall right now. While they’re not Mystery Capsules, they work the same way, and go for 150 NC each.
I did a quick poll on the NC to see what people's results were when opening these suitcases. Check out my results below.

Spoiler

What does this mean?

Well, Feet in the Clouds Foreground was one of the re-released items, and it has dropped from a 20-25 cap value to being quoted at 3-4. I saw some people trading theirs for 2 caps.
With so many released into the market, many long time NC traders are saying it will take years, if ever, for FiTC to go above an 8 cap value. It also means that people are thinking other JJPB prizes, such as the very popular Curly White Wig with Bow (currently quoted at 15+ caps), are also going to be RRed and many people have been spooked into trading theirs. I’ve seen more UFT today than I’ve seen in the past two months, though the other side to that is that people are hesitant to trade for them as well.
It will be interesting to see how these trends affects the NC Mall Birthday Caps that come out in June-July. In the past, these caps have RRed the very popular New Years BGs (NY in FL, etc). With NY in FL currently trading at 50+ caps, a re-release with as high numbers as FiTC could really make values plummet.

As of right now, there are only a few items that TNT has said will never be re-released. These include:

  • Prizes from site events like the Altador Cup or Daily Dare. (And, as such, the AC and GMC wigs that came from these events are two of the most sought after and highly valued wigs).
  • Super-sale items, which can vary greatly in value.
It's also worth noting that Superpack LE items aren’t RRed often, and even when they are they hold their value well. For example, Appetizing Caramel Apple was a LE from 2007. It’s been RRed many times and still trades at 35-40 caps. Another example of this are Garden Tea Shoes, which were the LE from the Garden Tea Superpack. They can trade for 8-12 caps, while the other items from the super pack are around 4 (or even less, since they were recently RRed).

So, to sum up, the NC Mall has been a little shaken up this week. If you’re looking for valuable NC investments, go after things that aren’t likely to be re-released (who knows if TNT will change their mind about “never” re-releasing certain items). Also, keep an eye on items like GMC and AC wig, as their values have been inflating recently. And finally, if you’ve got a NY in FL sitting in your closet, now might be the time to trade it off for some other wishes. After all, it looks like you’ll have no trouble getting in back in a few months.

ETA:Curly White Wig with Bow was in fact re-released and has dropped to a 4-5 cap value.

Enjoy a blast from the past

Hey

12 April 2012 - 03:50 PM

Hey guys. I'm new so I thought I'd post a quick hello. My name's Jane, I'm 22 and I'm a senior in college. I've gotten back into Neo (again, sigh) and came across this site just a few days ago.
