Basically, I've been looking at buying a brand new car for a while now and the opportunity came up to do so recently. I have decided to go for something a little smaller than what I'm used to, mainly because of the costs to run a car here these days are astronomical.
I had heard lots of great reviews about a few cars, but ultimately in the end, decided upon a 2014 Mazda 3.
We went down to our local Mazda dealership and took one for a test drive. I was immediately impressed by the plethora of features they had and was even more impressed by the fact that you don't have a key to start the car xD (well, you do, but it doesn't go into an ignition with a key head, it's push button/proximity start).
It also has this fancy way of saving fuel by using it's innovative i-Stop function. When you're at a set of lights or at a complete stop, the car will turn itself off if you put it in neutral and release the clutch. As soon as you want to go again, it instantly starts the engine up and you're good to go (just one press of the clutch will do it).
It comes with iPod connectivity, bluetooth handsfree phone access and an impressive 2.5L 4 cylinder motor with ~120kw (cbf to work out the hp for you Muricans).
So yeah, I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting and the price is good too. We (the missus and I) agreed on the Snowflake White Pearl paint. Looks awesome when the sun hits it. It only comes on a set of 16" steel rims with hubcaps, but I will be upgrading those to 18" alloys soon enough. I am also looking into Mazda's Kuroi bodykit for it (which is just essentially a lower lip extension for each bumper/sideskirts) and comes in a gloss black. This also includes gloss black mirror covers and a gloss black rear roof diffuser (for the hatchback, which is what I am getting).
Here are some pics of the car exactly how it will look when I take delivery for it on Tuesday.
So yeah, obviously the pics above aren't MY car but it's exactly what it will look like to start with.
Here's the additions I want to put on it eventually:
That is gorgeous Lovely colour too, congrats!
