Not really. Marik doesn't really go, "Hey you wanna play a shadow game?". He challenges them, they accept and he turns it into a shadow game.
If you accept the duel, you accept Marik's shadow game. And Yugi has never not accepted a challenge, especially against someone who hurts his friends.
You don't have to tell people it's a shadow game to get them into one. Therefore, they're technically accepting a normal duel.
