Something with this world is pretty fucked if downloading a bunch of academic journals can potentially land you 35 years in prison and $1 million in fines in the US. The work of researchers, like myself, is not meant to be used only by the privileged few. RIP Aaron Swartz

    Oh, I know. It's the prosecutors who are to blame in this case. JSTOR actually took the correct stance in this case, and offered the articles for free shortly after (with limitations).

    It's even worse when you consider that the researchers and academics don't even get paid for those papers. :/
