    I would imagine America's specialists have a good reputation not because individual doctors or specialists are paid a lot but rather because of the quality of research done in the university sector. ;) American specialists aren't even the highest paid in the world so that fact appears to support it. :P http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/15/how-much-do-doctors-in-other-countries-make/
