That feeling when every wifi router in the neighborhood decided to use the same channel as you... on the bright side, nobody is currently using channel 1 anymore.

I don't understand how that happens. They're supposed to scan for the least used channel. There's double digit channels available..

There are 10 channels available (1-11). Because the radio can be +/- 2 channels, you can only use channels 1, 6, and 11 for minimal overlap. Unfortunately cheap modems/routers mean cheap features and many people don't even know about wifi channels. Thankfully there are programs that can analyze the traffic and I was able to figure out why my wifi speeds dropped to 20% of its original speed for the last 48 hours.

And now all the wifi routers figured out what happened and just spread out evenly between the 10 channels... my speeds haven't been affected yet so I don't give a fuck for now.
