You do it because people impose expectations upon you. With those in place, you either feel pride for completing or even exceeding them or shame for failing those tasks. You really don't care about the people who impose those expectations onto you, but your only motivation as of right now is to silence that omnipresent voices in your head that casts shadows of doubt, worthlessness, and inadequacy into your fragile psyche. tl;dr Da love.
