I'm too lazy to think, so please help: which sector would have a greater elasticity of demand for labour, agriculture or mining?

On a global scale: mining. On a local scale: agriculture. Reasoning: no clue. I just remembering hearing it from a documentary about drugs.

Really tough but I think I'd go with agriculture since diminishing returns kicks in a lot faster there. Technically though it would depend on the type of mining and type of agriculture, no? Consider the amount of migrant workers employed by agriculture versus mining. If cheap workers disappeared from agriculture, those farms are likely going under. Mines are profitable enough to employ union workers so are less sensitive.
