do you have to exit the building?
a few years ago when i lived in a dorm one person kept burning popcorn. we all had to leave the building and wait for the firefighters to climb several flights of stairs to ensure it was not a real fire.
the fifth time this happened one of the firefighters took their ax to the microwave - no one complained

Yeah, we had to leave. The first time, it was burnt pizza, this time, it smelt like burgers.
