Umm... yes. They probably have no idea they even came off as an asshole. They can't read social cues.

Um. Depending on what they did, it's entirely possible they're calling autism to avoid apologizing. But then, I've seen it play that way a lot on the internet, particularly with Aspergers.

I will say a lot of autistic children and adults don't generally come across as assholes. They come across as awkward.
