Question for all u computer savvy folks.. my bf has a dell running vista x32. Is it possible to wipe the drive clean and install win 7 x64? vista is crap and hes wanting to try something new. And can anyone tell me what the x32, x64..etc.. means? ty

i dont know how to format, if i do that wouldnt the vista still be on the c drive? sorry im tech illeterate

save all data you want to keep somewhere else, then put the win7 disk into your computer. Restart and push a key when it asks if you want to boot from disk, then delete the partition with vista on it then recreate a partition then format it.
