Very much so, but there's too many people who are only concerned with their own well being. I used to be one of those people who only looked out for themselves...it gets lonely really fast though. Then I saw the world through a different light, if only others could do the same. At least you can make a difference being in it for the right reasons @Swarley! That's the biggest part of it all. You show your dedication to the field and you'll be rewarded immensely for it, and you seem like an intelligent individual whose capable of greatness.

I have an old professor who told us this story about one of his peers who took a wang from a cadaver, went to a ball game and started peeing in a communal urinal for a long time until people started getting mad at him for taking too long. Then after some grunting, he dropped the wang in the urinal. Funny, but you could probably go to jail for that nowadays...
