Ekans was snake backwards, Silent, it's not like they haven't taken the cheap route before. Also Arbok, yadda yadda. They're more or less doing what they've done generations past for Pokemon naming, cut them some slack. If Gen V came out first you'd be giving Gen I a lot of flak.
