i literally got 30 minutes of sleep last night because i've been trying to go without ambien and MY FUCKIN ANNOYING ASS BROTHER WOKE ME UP. fucker..i swear he pisses me off sometimes

No, benadryl(diphenhydramine) does not work to treat my insomnia. Tried it for about a year..just made me really tired and sleepy.
And I was late to my meeting...effin' people on 275. I'm going to try taking 2 ambien tonight and just going straight to sleep and see if that's a lil' better.

Wait...so Benadryl made you really tired and sleepy but it didn't help treat your insomnia?

nope, i would still stay up with it for hours but it made me very groggy the next day, started to affect my class attendance at my other college a lil'. Ambien is a very effective treatment of insomnia short-term. Benadryl is an antihistamine with tiredness as a side-effect.
