Try Visual Basic, the syntax is more approachable for new programmers and once you've got an understanding of it you'll be able to try switching over to C#.

@Waser Lave - I dabbled in VB many moons ago, and got the basics. I've also been working on a packrat collector for a while now, and I can't figure out how to buy stuff from the shop wiz =/. That's the only thing stopping me from finishing the program.
