Lower the amount of undo history Photoshop is allowed to keep.

3 usable GB. Pretty old machine, got her in '08. I tried doing it right after I started the computer, so nothing else was open, but still got the error. I'll try that Tailwind, thanks. Afraid I might just need a new rig before I can accomplish what I'd like.

I got a toshiba with 12 gb ram, and an i7 for $450 a few weeks back. You can get something pretty cheap.
