Advice on Securing an ebay auction? Seller doesn't have make an offer option, messaged and was told Around $80 was his auto price? Hasn't replied to last messages for 2 days nearly now. Thinking it is best just to take part of the auction, 6 days left and only 1 bidder, so far, no watchers apart from me...

What is the item? Depending on what it is, if you set a high enough price that you're willing to pay, the other bidder probably won't want it as much. For example if it's a dress that's currently at $8, but you're willing to pay $30 for it, you can put in $30 but it will only show it as you bidding $9, and if the other person bids, it will automatically outbid them just $1 more. I usually find if I put the most I'm willing to pay and let the auto thing do the bidding part, the person usually thinks I've put in an insane amount and gives up.

Always go for the Snipe, last minute bid. Just as there are cheats for neopets, there are cheat services for Ebay that allow people to know what items to bid on without leaving a finger print. Lot of people watching an item raises curiosity. Bid with less than 15 seconds and hope an autobidder is not your opponent.
