I keep trying to post the new caption contest but every time I press post it sends me to the codex front page?

It could be that the image you're trying to post is too big. Codex thinks it's easier to just throw you out than to warn you lol.

try creating and posting the topic without the image, then go back and edit your post and put the image in. things get weird sometimes.
