That's really very odd. If you can't get Safari to work at all, I'll suggest using Chrome. (Though it's a bit more complex with finding the right process.) The guide's missing some pictures though. http://www.neocodex.us/forum/topic/104760-how-to-use-chrome-ce/

Thanks for trying to help me. I'm just so confused as to what's wrong. But I have learned that adblock on Safari is awful, so there's that.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a way to make CE work for you. (weather in Safari or in another browser).
