For me, it's a crossroads of history and stone architecture. I LOVE old stones, and I love history (the who they were, and geneaology). I think modern stones are a waste of space, we have too many people and our history is well recorded, but old graveyards are patchwork stories, bits of evidence of lives lived and lost. The stones are artwork, and not just poured and molded. They're just fascinating to me.

I don't visit many cemeteries, but I do find them beautiful and fascinating, in an eerie sort of way. There's one near me known as the "Little Lost Cemetery." It's small, only about 15 graves. What makes it interesting is that there are only children buried there, because it served the county children's home in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

It's really easy to miss, tucked behind a firehouse, hidden from the street. The only reason I even know it exists is because my dad used to take my sister and me there when we were kids. I didn't know this at the time, but apparently, the original location of the children's home is now submerged under a nearby reservoir, which is pretty creepy in itself.

This abandonned cemetery I found it's the old village's cemetery. When the village started to grow in the opposite direction, the cemetery was moved (I'm not sure if any of the coffins were actually moved to the new one). Sadly most of the graves are so degraded that only one or two inscriptions are still visible.

Those stories is what makes cemeteries interesting. There are a lot of history in them. People's lives, sorrows, regrets. All that it IS interesting. It's nothing to do with "trends" or whatever stupid people find one thing interesting today just to ditch it tomorrow. :/
