If it makes you feel better my driveway is over 300 meters long and our plow broke down the day of our first snow fall.. (which was around a foot and a half - two feet). Took me 3 and a half hours to shovel :(

I wish there was snow here already. I can't wait until there is enough snow so I can ski in my backyard

Oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. Nobody even shovels our driveway until my mom gets up, because there's no time. I mean if we did we'd be waking up at insanely early times and if it's snowing, it's covered up again within a matter of minutes.
So, I have to prance through the snow like a freakin' dear to get out of my front yard. Not as gracefully as you would imagine.

When I lived in Minnesota we had snow like that 7-8 months out of the year starting mid-October. I'm in the desert now though, so no more of that bull-shit thank god.

That's how it is here. The past 2 years, however, it's been coming really late.

But anyways, the reason we get so much is because we're near a ton of lakes. Google lake-effect snow if you don't understand.

Oh I know what lake effect snow is. I actually lived in Duluth, MN which is located directly on the coast of Lake Superior. It wasn't unusual for the lake to bring our wind-chill down to 30 degrees below zero. I don't miss it at all.

I can't wait to leave it all. I will never willingly live in a place with snow like this. If it weren't for my mom, i'd be snowed in all winter. I absolutely HATE being cold.

We haven't gotten any snow yet in north Jersey. It flurried for a little bit on Thanksgiving, but that was it. It's actually just starting to get cold enough to snow. Generally, we get the bulk of our snow later in the season, and we haven't gotten more than a couple feet per storm in recent years. I'm looking forward to the school closures during the spring semester, though.

Oh yeah, whenever we do get a decent amount of snow, we pay the kid across the street to shovel. And we have a very short driveway. :p

I wish our school closed on days like these. But no, whoever decides these things hates us and the busses wing it. Last year we had one snow day, and one delay.
I swear, they'd still make us come to school in a blizzard-hurricane-earthquake.

In middle and high school they were very stingy with their school closures, but we did have a lot of delays. I think our school district just had an asshole superintendent, which sucks because there are like 14 public schools in my town and it snows a lot more in some areas than others. What's good about going to community college is that everyone commutes, and I live in a very large county, so they need to take into consideration that a lot of students (as well as professors) have to travel pretty far to get to school and they're more liberal about shutting down campus for a day or two. I guess they know that a bunch of professors are going to cancel class anyway.

It was more of a general statement, but whatever.

Also, have fun living with insects year round if you move anywhere warm enough to lack snow during the winter months.
