Never regret anything. Because at one point of time it was exactly what you wanted.

No it wasn't. I suspect that you could regret a difficult decision. Taking the lesser of two evils defeats your premise.

It wouldn't do to cut to the quick with a quote like that.

    Okay fine, how about..

Every morning in the Sahara, a gazelle wakes up, It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or else it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes, it knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or else it will starve to death. It doesn't matter if you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you better start running.

    How about

"I'm an unoriginal douchebag, who cannot think of anything useful to do with my time, and feel that looking like a poser or prison jailbait will make me seem more cool and interesting."

I suggest getting on the back of your spine. If you have one.

I don't think that was blunt enough. Why don't you smoke a blunt before commenting in GC next time? At least that way you won't be coherent enough for people to understand your insults. When you get repped this fast for a post like this... well... you deserved the rep, it was funny. But we're not playing very nice these days...

The only times I can remember were when you had definitely ingested something. Or at least, you typed like you were drunk. Hence my suggestion.

Lewis Caroll aka Charles Dodgeson was a pedophile. Just so no one tries to rub that in your face when you do get a tattoo...

Photographing little girls in the nude is an indicator of pedophilia...at least by my books.

Photographing little girls in the nude is an indicator of pedophilia...at least by my books.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), pedophilia is a paraphilia in which a person has intense and recurrent sexual urges towards and fantasies about prepubescent children and on which feelings they have either acted or which cause distress or interpersonal difficulty.

Pretty sure taking pictures of nude children (which was commonplace in his time) isn't an indication of paedophilia.

Your books are limited in scope, and blinkered by modernism.

    Nope, I'm definitely not narrow-minded :p

I just think that if you like photographing little girls in the nude, there's a good chance that you're sexually attracted to them...

def: having a biased or illiberal viewpoint; bigoted, intolerant, or prejudiced

Considering that you have no knowledge of the time period in which Dodgson lived (or you choose to exercise none of it) and instead your posts are influenced by the views of current culture with no application to his life, I'd say that Joe's statement (my post was merely explaining it to you) is extremely accurate.

You may not be narrow-minded generally, but you certainly are with regards to this topic.

Nope, I still don't think I'm narrow minded. But what about you? You're saying Dodgson had absolutely no sexual interest in children?

Besides photographing nude girls (which was commonplace. Both Oscar Rejlander and Julia Cameron are considered pioneers of Photography and snapped nudes of children in the same time period) there is no basis to say that he is a paedophile. All of these 'hidden meanings' in his works are merely playing off that idea and were brought up AFTER HIS DEATH by ignorant people trying to analyze a man in the 19th century with a 21st century viewpoint. Show me any FACT (not speculation) that Dodgson was or exhibited signs of paedophilia. You can't. Which is why it's not a true statement, which is why you're narrow-minded for believing such without doing your own research.

Ever heard of In the Shadow of the Dreamchild? If not, then you're really not worth arguing with =/

Actually I haven't but I remember doing a project on him in my grade 8 english class. It was a little weird first reading about his "affections" for little girls. I even called my teacher over and asked her if I should even talk about it during the presentation. I remember he words were, "Yikes! Yeh, I would just not mention it". The oral presentation would've been in front of 10 or so parents and their kids. I kinda wish I had talked about it :p

Anyways, I would be lying if I said I didn't abide by some cultural norms but I'm a very open-minded person. In Lewis' case I really think he had feelings for little girls...

So why are you arguing something that you remember from 8th grade? Fuck when I was in 8th grade I thought that if I got higher grades than everyone else I was the smartest kid. Things change, new info comes out blah blah blah.

I said you were narrow-minded in regards to this topic. And you continue, still, to be. You think, you think, you think. Show me one fact about Dodgson's alleged paedophilia. That's all I'm asking for. One.simple.fact.

Take it easy. That was just an anecdote that I remembered because we were arguing about the guy...

All I can offer is my opinion...but what do you have that's so concrete?
