Found this on Karoline Leach's website, author of In the Shadow of Dreamchild - a book made to sort through the controversial issue you two are talking about.

"The idea that Lewis Carroll was pedophilic, in desire if not in action, developed from both a lack of awareness of what has been called the Victorian Child Cult and the belief that he had no interest in adult relationships and focused all his energies on what he called his 'child friends'. This belief - which was totally untrue - arose principally from the fact that his first biographer, his nephew Stuart Collingwooddeliberately suppressed the evidence for his uncle's relationships with women. In the late 19th C, there was little conception of pedophilia, and a man associating with children was considered to be 'innocent' and saintly. To promote this image, his nephew manipulated the evidence and even implied that many of the women Carroll associated with were actually 'child-friends'. This was accepted unquestioningly by subsequent biographers, and even developed further, with almost no regard for the actual evidence."

Take it easy. That was just an anecdote that I remembered because we were arguing about the guy...

All I can offer is my opinion...but what do you have that's so concrete?

I gave you a website and a book. Need you more?

Thanks for the excerpt, but I already posted this before we even started arguing.

Man. I just realized that. Dur. For what it's worth, I'm on your side. It's always fun to believe in crazy myths, but with undeniable proof like that you can't take them seriously any more.

Okay. And scientologists believe in the alien overlord Xenu. Congratulations for finding your very own false ideal to cherish.

Defying the evidence and reasoning shown to you for no good reason. Nice.

Your post had nothing to do with Lewis Carroll's being a pedophile.

and discussing whether or not Lewis Carroll was a pedo is a far cry from tattoo quote ideas.

Was actually thinking of the sun/moon/star thing as a tramp stamp, but after months of contemplating the issue, i've decided on middle upper back. ;) Close enough. I have enough sexy to make up for no tramp stamp.

Good enough, kudos for that even. If I get tattoos there will be one spread across my whole back and one on my right arm.

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
I haven't been able to deal
Since the day that I lost you.

    Now these roses bleed red
    And these violets cry blue
I think of you in memories
Do you think of me too?

I thought we had wrapped up the pedo conversation. On to greener pastures folks!

In effort to stay on topic, my friend just got "my aim is true" tattooed across his hand and it looks freaking awesome. Though I'm not one for quote tattoos, it's the best one I've seen so far.
