It's still not working.

You have a tool bar in the top of your post window (Where you can change the format of anything on your post, add emoticons, insert links, quotations, etc).
Try exploring it a little.

How can I post .gifs?

If you get the direct link of the picture/gif, all you have to do is copy and paste the URL into the drop down window that you get when you click the "Insert image" button (it's two icons to the right of the smiley icon, just incase you can't find it.)
