With holidays among us, I was wondering which gifts yall are most proud of giving (or are going to give). And which is your favorite gift you have ever gotten.

For me, I am proud of this ornament I gave my mom when I was 10. Had a personal message and for my age it was pretty thoughtful.

This year I am excited to give my GF a necklace. I told her I couldn't afford jewelry and she has absolutely no expectations.

My favorite gift I have gotten is probably a computer. My parents managed to convince me the PC wasn't mine and it was for my grandmother. I even helped wrap it.

I'm giving my cousin a gift certificate to FroYo. My mom is getting a gift certificate to Starbucks. I'm getting my dad a waffle iron. And that's it.

All I asked for this year was cash. My favorite gift I ever got was my laptop.

My favorite gift ever is a tie between my wacom and my doc martens. And the best I ever gave is the bunny rabbit I bought for my boyfriend.

Best present I've ever given was a PS3 for my boyfriend last year.
Best one I've ever gotten was probably my computer, which was actually a combined birthday/Christmas/graduation gift.
My best birthday gift was a checking account with $1000 and a debit card from my mom when I turned 16.

Give people what they asked for, because apparently being surprised with gifts that they are not expecting is not "in" anymore and they think they can just give you a list and expect all those gifts under the plastic tree and ruin all of the fun.

Myself, pretty sure way back in the mid 90's opening up that giant box to have the Mario Paint SNES bundle was the happiest day of my life.

    Still play the brick.

(Yes, I did go back and edit my post dramatically when I noticed I was heavily off topic and ranting like a motherfucker)

The best gift I've given (terms of monetary value) was a box set of The Beatles to (sadly enough) my ex. I threw a little pre finals dinner party to a couple of friends last week, and I guess sentimental-wise that tops the list.

Then best gift I've ever gotten was a TT/tri bike that I got for my 21st birthday...I was crazy enough to even tell parents that I'd rather get the tri bike than replace my old car.

I mean projects that are equivalent to programming things you've done here.
I've used some pretty shitty user-made programs in my marketing efforts. I've paid for them and they've been sub-par in every way.

Oh man, I bet you were surprised. My mom has done that shit to me with presents. All the time you're wrapping it, you're thinking of all the cool shit you can do with such a thing if only it were yours and then IT *IS* YOURS.

Give people what they asked for, because apparently being surprised with gifts that they are not expecting is not "in" anymore and they think they can just give you a list and expect all those gifts under the plastic tree and ruin all of the fun.

    I don't believe in this.
    Here comes my rant!
It's not in the spirit of giving to get someone something they've explicitly asked for. I know those types of odd families who make lists of what people should get them, and then there's always a disappointment that someone got them the wrong thing in the wrong size, or the wrong color. It's disgusting behavior. Why don't you go out and buy something you want for yourself then, selfish asshole? I would much rather receive something I have never ever thought of buying myself, given to me by someone who thought I might like it.

Two years ago in a Secret Santa drawing at work, I was given the cutest black puffy French-looking sweater a co-worker thought I might like. It's not something I would buy for myself, far too girly. And I live in south Texas, so I rarely use it. But I absolutely love it.

The best present I've ever gotten for someone is this year, I got my sister one of those retarded High School monster doll things. She's going to love it because 1. she loves dolls, and 2. she won't be expecting anything from me, because I basically never get her anything. Hee hee hee.

    most proud of giving:

Well it was more about the effort than the monatary value! For my parents 25th wedding anniversary i took them out for a lovley dinner with friends and had arranged with a big radio station who was live in a local venue to call them up on stage and present them with free champaign for the whole evening and got the whole club to give my parents a round of applause :D

Was such a surprise for them and they loved it!! Plus it took a bit of persuasion and tactics to get the radio station on board.

And which is your favorite gift you have ever gotten:

My first car from my mum and dad :D Was awesome!

A car is huge where I live. The COE can add an extra 20-30% of the cost, not to mention the ERP constantly draining away your money.

Best gift I given someone is probably the book Ariel by Plath and a cute mug shaped like a puppy.

Favourite gift to receive would be dinners or clothing.

I am most proud of being able to actually give my boyfriend a gift this year. It's a beautiful digital camera! After a 2 year run of being too poor to get him anything, I can't wait to see his face. Just in time for our winter vacation since I'm taking him 18 hours north to New York City the day after Christmas! :D
My favorite gift I've ever gotten has to be... either the set of little gifts my friend got me in 8th grade, or the beautiful diamond bracelet my boyfriend gave me for our anniversary.
